An AI knowledge base stores your business's information in a format the AI can retrieve from — typically chunked text with vector embeddings. Sources include FAQs, product catalogs, website pages, uploaded documents (PDF, DOCX), and structured prompts. The AI doesn't memorize this content; it retrieves the relevant parts at query time (this is RAG). A well-built knowledge base is the single biggest factor in AI quality for business use.
