RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation)

An AI technique that retrieves relevant information from a knowledge base before generating an answer.

Full definition

RAG combines retrieval (finding relevant information) with generation (creating a response). Instead of relying only on what the AI model was trained on, the system first searches a specific knowledge base — like a business's FAQ, product catalog, or documents — for relevant context, then uses that context to generate an accurate, grounded answer. Fiko uses RAG so its chatbot answers based on your business's specific information, not generic AI knowledge.
